چکیده

Abstract To comprehend the fatigue failure mechanism at fiber discontinuity in fiber-reinforced composites, it is necessary to evaluate local mechanical behaviors. The strength depends on stress distribution inclusion corner. An improved advanced finite element method (IAFEM) proposed for intensity factor (SIF) analysis In IAFEM, stiffness matrix of singular corner (SICE) obtained, and elastic field tip determined. effects load direction, distribution, geometry, material properties SIFs are analyzed numerically using IAFEM. difference between two-dimensional three-dimensional inclusions discussed. IAFEIM calculation results can provide reference preparation composite materials.

Fatigue analysis of glass fiber reinforced composites

Some structure materials can match the flexibility and effectiveness of glass fiber Reinforced plastic, commonly called GFRP for short or simply fiberglass. Even it is very high strength, light weight, strong, and completely waterproof, it can be molded into free form shapes such as aerospace structures, and then also it has its endurance limits. Endurance limit means loss of strength and stiff...

Effect of Fiber Surface Treatment on Wear Characteristics of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polyamide 6 Composites

Ozone modification method and air-oxidation were used for the surface treatment of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)-based carbon fiber. The surface characteristics of carbon fibers were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The interfacial properties of carbon fiber reinforced polyamide 6 (CF/PA6) composites were investigated by means of the single fiber pull-out tests. As a result...

Analysis of Local Thermomechanical Effects in Fiber-reinforced Periodic Composites

Two approaches are combined to investigate the effect of localized thermomechanical loadings of periodic multiphase materials. The first one, referred to as the representative cell method, reduces the infinite domain problem to a problem for the periodicity cell by means of the discrete Fourier transform. This problem is solved by the discretization of the cell into several subcells and a secon...
